Instant Insulation may be used on permanent or semi-permanent installation where flexible, rugged, corona and weather-proof protection is needed.

Extruded of field proven SALCOR elastomer, Instant Insulation is resistant to ozone/corona and ultraviolet deterioration while remaining flexible even at sub-zero temperatures. Available in two colors, the Sky-gray is most frequently used as " Tree Gard" and to cover risers on transformers, capacitors, arrestors and cutouts. The bright orange color finds use around construction sites, sign installations, etc. to help prevent accidental contacts with lines. Instant Insulation is excellent for covering leads from portable substations and as wildlife protection to protect against power outages .

All three sizes are furnished in standard 12 foot lengths with six black nylon UV resistant bar-lock tie-wraps per length. These ties assist in permanently securing the Instant Insulation to the conductor.

For fast insulation use the Cat. # 2494 Universal Hot Stick Applicator, to roll Instant Insulation on the conductor.

Instant Insulation is not intended as a replacement for rubber insulating line hose. Designed with a thinner wall to have less bulk, lighter weight and lower cost, it does not provide the same protection as Line Hose does.
